Bratislava, 07.08.2023
The number of foreign entrepreneurs who own companies in Slovakia is increasing. While at the end of March of this year, foreign owners had a total of 56,944 companies in their hands, in July of this year there were already 57,608 companies. This results from the analysis of the consulting company Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), which regularly maps data and information about which foreign companies are transferred to Slovak companies.According to D&B, most Slovak companies are owned by owners from neighboring countries – the Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria.Entrepreneurs from the Czech Republic currently control 14,056 companies, while in March it was 13,838. According to D&B, historical ties and territorial proximity, but also a weak language barrier and a similar economic situation in both countries, play in favor of Czech entrepreneurs. They are followed by entrepreneurs from Hungary, who own 12,112 companies in Slovakia.Citizens of Austria control 4,167 companies in Slovakia, while the fifth most frequently represented owners are Ukrainians (2,663) and Germans (2,393).Owners from Poland, who own 2,228 companies in Slovakia, are also among the top 10, followed by Italian entrepreneurs with 2,140 companies and Romanian owners who control 1,501 companies.odkaz na stránku
