| The Polish state-controlled Orlen refinery took over the Polish part of the Jamal gas pipeline in October. This means that Gazprom lost its stake in Europol Gaz, which owns the Polish part of YamalThe Russian energy giant Gazprom filed a claim in the St. Petersburg court in the amount of more than 900 million USD (827.66 million euros) against Polish companies. The reasons for the compensation requests were not disclosed. However, Gazprom has also recently begun suing other Central European energy companies, with both sides claiming lost revenue or payments.In 2022, Poland ended its agreement with Russia to take Russian gas through the Yamal pipeline after Warsaw rejected a demand to pay in rubles and Moscow responded by cutting off supplies.
Documents from the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region showed on Thursday that Gazprom is seeking compensation of $710 million and 886.4 million zlotys (206.05 million euros) from Europol GAZ, Orlen, Ernst and Young Global and Earnst and Young Corporate Finance. .
