| From July, it will be possible to travel on one ticket via multiple carriers |
| Bratislava, 30.06.2026 |

| From Wednesday, July 1, it will be possible to travel with multiple carriers on one integrated ticket in Slovakia. The new mobile application, which can also plan the entire route, was presented on Monday by representatives of the Ministry of Transport (MD) of the Slovak Republic and the supplier company Asseco Central Europe. The state paid 11.85 million euros excluding VAT for the delivery of the system, while its five-year operation will cost another 11.77 million euros excluding VAT.
According to the supplier company, Slovakia is the second country in the European Union (EU) after the Netherlands with such a comprehensive system. It integrates 39 carriers that provide public transport, including urban public transport (MHD), regional bus transport and two railway carriers.
"Previously, you had to use either multiple mobile applications or multiple methods of purchase. Here you have it all in one, with one click you can buy all the tickets you need for your trip," explained Martin Baran, project manager of the National Integrated Travel Ticket (NICL) from the Ministry of Transport.
Through the application called Cyril, it will also be possible to track the current location of the vehicle, route, delays, but also to resolve complaints. An artificial intelligence-based chatbot that uses the state IT infrastructure will also help passengers directly in the application. However, a classic call center and email support will also be available. In addition to the application, functions are also available on the web.
The system will start with basic functions in July, and more will gradually be added during the summer, such as the "Pay as you go" option in some public transport, support for smart watches or loading transport cards, which will be taken into account when calculating the price of the ticket. In September, offline timetables, favorite routes, linked accounts or acceptance of student cards are also to be added.
As Marek Grác from Asseco Central Europe explained, the "Pay as you go" fare payment system works on the principle of automatically calculating the most advantageous fare. The passenger activates the travel mode in the application, while the system temporarily blocks a deposit on the payment card in the amount of a 24-hour ticket. Throughout the day, the application automatically records the exact time of boarding and exiting vehicles in the background using Bluetooth technology. After 24 hours, the system recalculates all completed routes and charges the passenger the most economical combination - either the amount for individual short-term tickets, or the maximum value of an all-day ticket.odkaz na stránku |
