Finance minister opens ASEAN Investment Day

The Jakarta Post , Nusa Dua, Bali | Sun, 05/03/2009 Indonesian Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati opened the Indonesia and Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Investment Day in Nusa Dua, Bali on Sunday. Sri Muyani said in her opening speech the Investment Day was to showcase the latest goods, services, tourism and investment products and opportunities Indonesia and countries in the region have on offer. The finance minister said that Indonesia and countries in the ASEAN region would enjoy positive growth of around 4 to 4.5 percent this year, a far better performance than expected amid the slowing global economy. “Our growth levels are not simply due to good government policy, they represent a joint effort between the government and the determination of the region’s citizens to be successful,” she said.
