| The US Senate approved an amendment to the Migration Act |

| The US Senate approved an amendment to the Migration Act that would lift the visa requirement for Slovakia and other new EU members for a temporary two-year period. However, the states must meet strict crite-ria, which none of the states complies with. Only Poland is close to fulfilling them. One of the conditions is to support the US in the war against terrorism and in conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan with at least 300 strong units. Slovakia has 160 soldiers there.
The norm must still be approved by the House of Representatives and signed by the US President.
