| The Supreme Court has cancelled the telecom authority TU’s decision by which it issued a license for TV broadcasting in Bratislava through a wireless system MMDS to cable operator SATRO Ltd. Bratislava. On the basis of the verdict, which cannot be appealed, SATRO has to end MMDS broadcasting in the Slovak capital and the surrounding area because the license is not valid.
According to Julius Pereszlenyi, the plaintiff and a participant in the tender for the operation of the MMDS, the TU will decide on the future of this license. He said that the court confirmed serious legal deficiencies in the TU’s selection process in which the authority issued the license to SATRO back in November 2002.
