FNM Again Preparing for Shutdown, Gradually Letting Employees Go
Bratislava, 26.08.2011
Bratislava, August 25 (TASR) - The National Property Fund (FNM) is preparing for the termination of its activities, which is scheduled for the end of this electoral term (2014), as scrapping FNM is included in the Government Manifesto. "FNM has already prepared the sequence of the steps and measures that are inevitable in connection with this process," Miroslav Homola from FNM announced on Thursday. Before it is closed down, FNM has to finalise the privatisation of non-strategic companies and it has to deal with the securities transferred to its account by people. FNM at the moment owns shares of more than 700 companies. The organisation, the death knell for which was sounded more than decade ago, has thus reduced the number of its employees by 45 percent since 2009. "The number of employees doesn't exceed 50 at the moment," stated Homola, adding that further redundancies are being prepared. gk/tm/tf
