| In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2006 brewery Pivovar Saris j.s.c. Velky Saris, a subsidiary of SABMiller, posted a loss of Sk 19m on sales of Sk 2.2bn, which represents a 17% growth y/y. The brewery’s operating profit was Sk 23m. Overall investments were Sk 162.3m, of which a major part went toward support for the implementation of the SAP system.
The management blames investments and demanding conditions on the Slovak beer market for the loss. The brewery sold 1.2m hl of beer (-3% y/y), while the overall decrease on the Slovak beer market was 4% in the given period
