| British company Endemit acquired a “significant stake” in medium sized local brewery Steiger in Vyhne, and Czech PMS, which owns three breweries in the CR (the best known is Zubr), became a minority shareholder too. Till this transaction, the brewery was owned by businessman Eduard Rada (51%; he privatized the brewery in 1993) and a consortium EBRD, EU’s foundation in support of post-privatization business and East Fund Management (49%; they entered the brewery in 2002). Now, Rada controls a minority but “significant” stake.
Last year, Steiger produced 170,000 hl of four brands of beer.
