| PM Robert Fico changed the draft cabinet manifesto. He sent six pages of his comments to the initial draft to cabinet ministers and blamed them for not fulfilling Smer’s election promises. In the part on taxes, for instance, he insisted on a clear definition of goods and services with a re-duced VAT rate. In connection with income tax he noted that he supports the millionaire tax and that the wages of MPs and cabinet members should automatically fall within this category.
He also asked that a sentence on at least partial compensation of clients of non-banking financial entities be added to the manifesto. He noted that this is a group of 300,000 people of whom the majority voted for the current coalition parties. The cabinet will vote on the manifesto today |
