| President Zeman on Monday begins first workday |

| President Miloš Zeman on Monday begins his first workday as the country’s new head-of-state, set to meet with members of the diplomatic corps. Later in the week, on Wednesday, Mr Zeman will meet with the country’s regional governors. This week he will also officially name Vratislava Mynář, the head of the Citizens’ Rights Party – Zemanites, as his chancellor. At the weekend, the new president outlined other priorities, among them his intention to visit Czech troops serving in Afghanistan; concrete dates are being discussed. Miloš Zeman was sworn as the third president of the Czech Republic on Friday.
