| EU and Japan to hold trade talks by phone |

| The EU and Japan will on Monday hold planned face-to-face trade talks by phone after EU leaders cancelled travelling to Tokyo because of the Cyprus euro crisis. "We will discuss the launch of negotiations on Japan-EU economic partnership agreement and political accord," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said, reports AFP.
