| By the end of this year a company owned by businessman Milan Filo, Eco – Invest j.s.c., should become the only owner of meat processing company Tauris j.s.c. Rimavska Sobota. Already at the beginning of November Eco – Invest gained a one third stake in Tauris. The value of the transaction was not published. Tauris’ sales last year were Sk 1.2bn. (Pravda/13)
Dutch concern Friesland Foods plans to shut down a dairy in Nitra which has al-most 200 employees. Production should be moved to Hungary, say milk suppliers and some company employees. The company management did not confirm this information, however. On the other hand, a spokesman of the Hungarian affiliation did not deny the information either.
Last year the Dutch company closed pro-duction in Zilinske mliekarne Laktis dairy on grounds of ineffectiveness.
