| Minister Lajčák with the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) management on migration crisis and diplomacy |

| Economic diplomacy, the Government´s support for the activities of entrepreneurs abroad, as well as the causes and consequences of the migration crisis were discussed in Trnava on Tuesday during the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák and the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Supervisory Board and the Board of Directors.
Minister Lajčák appreciated the existing cooperation of the Ministry with the SCCI and its regional chambers and they jointly evaluated the communication between the Government and the business community – be it abroad, through economic diplomacy or at home through the Export and Investment Promotion Council of the Government. In this context, Lajčák encouraged the SCCI Supervisory Board and the Board of Directors to continuously bring forward their ideas and expectations from the Government.
Lajčák also explained that the position of the Government of the Slovak Republic in terms of addressing the current migration crisis lies in a comprehensive and sustainable approach to its humanitarian consequences, as well as political and economic causes. In a broad-ranging discussion with guests of the working lunch hosted by the SCCI, they then exchanged views on the impact of the migration and refugee crisis on the political and economic environment in the European Union. Minister Lajčák also talked about the progress made within the preparations of Slovakia for its Presidency in the Council of the European Union and recalled that this historically the first Slovak Presidency also offers scope for presentation of Slovak business entities through public tenders and sponsorships.MZV |
