Dialogue with Asian partners gains intensity even before Slovakia’s Presidency of the Council of the EU |

Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, participated in an informal meeting with resident ambassadors from Asia today (20 May 2016). The meeting was attended by the Ambassadors of Indonesia, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Vietnam as well as the chargé d´affaires a.i. of China to Slovakia.
State Secretary Parízek reiterated the importance of the Asian and Pacific region as an important partner for economic cooperation and political dialogue. Slovakia’s foreign policy for the region centers on developing favorable prerequisites for fulfilling trade and economic interests, including support for an influx of foreign direct investment with emphasis on industries with a strong innovation potential.
State Secretary Parízek briefly informed about the priorities for bilateral relations with Asian countries, cooperation under the V4+ (Japan, South Korea, China, India) format, EU/Asian relations and multilateral cooperation by the EU with Asia.
