Minister Lajčák receives Japanese Ambassador Shimmi
Bratislava, 20.10.2016
Bratislava (18 August) – Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák, received the Ambassador of Japan to Slovakia, Jun Shimmi, in Bratislava today. Their meetings focused on continuing an intensive political dialogue in the context of the May visit by Minister Lajčák to Tokyo and the substantive Slovakia-Japan economic cooperation. Minister Lajčák emphasized that Japan is an important partner of Slovakia in the economic and political areas and that Slovakia is further prepared to create an attractive environment for Japanese investors, especially in the areas of innovation and research. In that regard both partners evaluated the preparations for an October visit to Slovakia by a mission of officials from the Keidanren organization, the most important business association in Japan and the umbrella organization of leading Japanese businesses and companies. Minister Lajčák and Ambassador Shimmi also evaluated timely foreign policy developments, as perceived by Slovakia, the country now presiding over the Council of the EU, and as viewed by Japan as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. odkaz na stránku
