| State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Lukáš Parízek opened joint session of the Slovak-Russian Business Council and Business Council for Cooperation with the Slovak Republic on behalf of the Minister Miroslav Lajčák.
Parízek welcomed the opportunity of the meeting – needed for the exchange of views and further economic development between the Slovak Republic and the Russian Federation. He expressed the conviction that only through active dialogue especially in business will it be possible to find new ground for further cooperation. “The current state of the joint trade-and-commerce cooperation does not reflect the real state and opportunities of our two countries. I believe that the session today will serve as a tool for creating new business relations and contribute to new steps toward deepening mutual cooperation,” stated Parízek.
The meeting was attended by Slovak-Russian Business Council Chairman Igor Ledecký, newly-elected Chairman of the Business Council for Cooperation with Slovakia Sergei Ivanovich Shmatko, Chairman and General Director of the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses of the Russian Federation Alexander Braverman, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation V. V. Semyonov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Slovakia Alexey Leonidovich Fedotov, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Russian Federation Peter Priputen, as well as representatives of other organizations.
