“Slovaks abroad will receive €200,000 more for their activities and the trend of increasing support will continue in the coming years”

The SR Government Council for Expatriate Issues that held deliberations under leadership of its vice-chair, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Lukáš Parízek, in the premises of the diplomacy department today (26 April), discussed redistribution of subsidies for the Office of the Slovaks Living Abroad (ÚSŽZ), issuing certificates of Slovaks living abroad and the plan for key expatriate events. Before the official start of the meeting, State Secretary Parízek festively presented the appointment decree to State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport SR, Oľga Nachtmannová. “The Slovaks living abroad will receive €200,000 more for their activities and the trend of increasing support will continue in the coming years,” said Parízek in introduction to the meeting. He and the ÚSŽZ head, Ján Varšo, confirmed that ÚSŽZ will provide more assistance to Slovak expatriates living abroad in organizing cultural events. Another point of discussion with the ÚSŽZ head were applications for support of 810 expatriate projects that ÚSŽZ has already received that amount to €3.5 million. Of that number, ÚSŽZ partially or fully supported 461 applications from 30 countries in the areas of education, spiritual and secular culture, information and media with €900,000. odkaz na stránku
