| Korèok with French Ambassador Christophe Léonzi and German chargé d´Affaires Lorenz Barth on V4-Weimer Triangle cooperation |

| State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ivan Korèok today (12 July) met with French Ambassador Christophe Léonzi and German chargé d´Affaires Lorenz Barth, who invited him to the first seminar of the V4-Weimer Triangle to be held in Bratislava in the autumn. This should focus on the contribution to the discussion on the future of the EU. Keynote speakers will feature –- apart from political representatives – academics and key experts from administrations of the participating states.
State Secretary Korèok highlighted excellent relations of the Slovak Republic with Germany and France. The Slovak Republic is ready to continue in the cooperation with these countries, to deepen the mutual dialog and delve into concrete areas both joint interest and issues where mutual understanding needs to be sought - for example, the Directive on posting of workers, the core principles of which Slovakia supports but also expects movement from countries such as France and Germany so that the both sides could proceed toward achieving a compromise. Together with Germany and France, the Slovak Republic would like to focus on prominent topics overlapping the bilateral relations that are being intensively discussed at the European level.
“We would like to promote open policy overreaching our region within the V4. Several top-level V4 meetings in the past confirm this, whether it was the meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron or representatives of the Benelux countries. We welcome the interest of France and Germany in this V4 approach,” stated State Secretary Korèok.
