Minister Lajčák signs a bilateral agreement with Brazil
Brazil, 22.08.2017
Family members of Slovak diplomats in Brazil and those of Brazilian diplomats in Slovakia will be able to be employed in the receiving country without having first to apply for a work permit. This is the result of an agreement that was signed by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs SR, Miroslav Lajčák, and Ambassador of Brazil to Slovakia, Antonio Balduíno Carneiro, in the premises of the diplomacy department today (18 August). The aim of the agreement, as a specific contribution to further development of cooperation and deepening the bilateral relations between Slovakia and Brazil, is contributing to consolidation of work and family lives of diplomatic employees and to the modernization and higher effectiveness of foreign service. Similar agreements have been concluded by the Slovak Republic with the Netherlands, Canada, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Turkey, USA and Israel. Family members engaging in paid activities under this agreement are subjected to the host country’s tax, social security, and health insurance systems in matters of employment. The agreement comes into effect once the respective diplomatic notes have been exchanged. odkaz na stránku
