PSA will produce electric motors in Trnava
Trnava, 21.11.2017
The French carmaker re-evaluated original plans and announced it will produce electric motors in its Slovak plant. French carmaker Groupe PSA will produce electric motors in its Trnava plant, re-evaluating the original plan to make classical petrol devices in Slovakia, the Sme daily wrote on November 21. Earlier, the Aktuality.sk website informed that the French have completely dumped the idea of producing motors in Slovakia. This claim has since been disproven, according to Sme. “Aimed at optimising the production capacities in its Trnava-based car plant, the Groupe PSA decided to replace the original project of producing engines with the production of vehicles with electric motors,” spokesman of the Trnava branch, Peter Švec, told Sme. The production will start in late 2019 or in 2020 at the latest. The trnava plant has great confidence in this project: last autumn, it launched the production of a new Citroen C3 and produced the Peugeot 208. The recent decision may also indicate that the carmaker is considering production of electro-mobiles in Slovakia as it plans to add an electric version to each of its models, according to Sme. odkaz na stránku
