Soros: I am not behind Kiska’ speech, nor behind protests
Bratislava, 06.03.2018
US financier George Soros is denying the claims of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico about him being behind the recent speech of Slovak President Andrej Kiska or the protest marches around Slovakia connected to the murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his partner, Martina Kušnírová, the Hospodárske noviny daily and Rádio Aktual informed. Concerning the statements of PM Fico, Soros did not play any role in the recent speech of President Kiska, nor in the recent demonstrations in Slovakia, reads the official stance sent to media by Soros’ spokesman Michael Vachon. As for last year’s meeting between Kiska and Soros, they met in New York, in September 2017, during the UN General Assembly. They talked about how to help better integrate the Roma community in Slovakia, as quoted by the TASR newswire. The official release also states that Kiska was not alone at this meeting – as Fico suggested – but rather accompanied by several advisors, while Mr. Soros was with his son, Alex Soros, vice-chair of the Open Society Foundations, and OSF president Patrick Gaspard. odkaz na stránku
