| Visit parliamentary delegation from Azerbaijan |

| On 23 May 2018, Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, received a delegation of Azerbaijan members of parliament led by co-chairperson of the Inter-Parliamentary Group of Slovak-Azerbaijan Friendship, Shamsuddin H. Hajiyev.
They discussed issues related to bilateral relations and selected topics on priority foreign policy issues of both the Slovak Republic and Azerbaijan. They also addressed the current situation in the South Caucasus and prospects for a solution of the conflict in the Nagorno-Karbakh region.
State Secretary Parízek informed his partner about the plans and intentions of the Slovak chairmanship of OSCE in 2019. At the same time, he suggested that Azerbaijani representatives take part in creating the content of the chairmanship agenda and utilize their country’s experience in resolving current regional conflicts.
Parízek assured the partners about Slovakia’s ongoing interest in the enhancement of trade and investment and also about its support for the highest level of political dialogue.
