| Asian weekend in Bratislava delivers colours and tastes of six exotic countries |

| Today (27 July) Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, together with the representatives of Bratislava municipality and ambassadors of the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam opened the first year of the Asian weekend. It establishes a tradition for an event with the aim to enhance multinational and multicultural dialog by means of a natural and attractive form.
State Secretary Parízek acknowledged the activities of representations of the Asian countries in the organisation of the event aimed to be accessible to the general public: “The first Asian weekend takes place in the year when we are commemorating 25 years of establishing diplomatic relations with these Asian countries. Slovakia, together with Asia, has been building friendly relations and cooperation in the whole range of areas with determination. In addition to it, this year, our endeavours are strengthened by Slovakia’s presiding over the Visegrad 4 Group which motivates us to new dimensions of relations.”
The Asian weekend is taking place on Friday and Saturday, 27-28 July at Hlavné nám. (Main Square) in Bratislava. The event is open for everyone and there will be music, singing and dancing performances, demonstrations of traditional cultural rituals, martial arts, fashion shows and gastronomic specialties of the six countries represented.
