| “The Challenge of managing three presidencies” |

| Today (21 August 2018) Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, at the ministry addressed the ambassadors of the Slovak Republic abroad. They gathered in Bratislava to take part in a regular meeting of heads of representation missions of the Slovak Republic. The ministryorganizes this forum every two years as a platform for discussion of principal issues of Slovak foreign policy and also as an opportunity to analyse in detail the achieved results and priorities set in the area of foreign policy. These were the issues that Minister Lajčák emphasized in his address. “We are facing new challenges in the form of several parallel presidencies – since July we have been presiding over the Visegrad 4 group and as of January we will be bearing on our shoulders the responsibility of taking part in the lead of the OSCE, and last but not least, we will be chairing the meetings of the OECD Council at Ministerial Level. Regarding the last two, it will be our premiere and it depends on us how we will manage, with dignity, the trust that our partners have placed in us and that our diplomacy will deliver an added value to the international arena,” stated the chief of Slovak diplomacy.
Teodor-Viorel Meleşcanu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, also addressed the participants and discussed current international issues with the ambassadors. During the three days, the ambassadors will also meet with Thomas Greminger, General Secretary of OSCE, Alessandro Azzoni, the permanent representative of the chairing country of this organisation – Italy; Peter Pellegrini, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic; and other distinguished officials of the Slovak government. The ambassadors will also be received by Andrej Danko, Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
