| New Ambassador of Cyprus to the Slovak Republic |

| Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, received Michalis Chr. Stavrinos, designated Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Slovak Republic, today (12 September 2018). The new ambassador appreciated the excellent bilateral relations and thanked the Government of the Slovak Republic for Slovakia´s engagement in mediating the bi-communal dialogue between the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot political parties. In relation to increasing the number of the Slovak peacekeeping forces within UNFICYP, the ambassador asked Slovakia to “maintain high operational readiness” in Sector 4, under the command of the Slovak contingent. Parízek assured the designated ambassador that Slovakia’s activities helping approximation and increasing trust between the two communities on the island will continue. MZV |
