| State Secretary Lukáš Parízek receives Ukrainian partner and opens Slovak-Ukrainian discussion forum |

| On 19 September 2018 in Bratislava, Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, held negotiations with Vasyl Bodnar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The partners addressed a broad range of bilateral issues, including cooperation in areas such as trade, economy and energy. They discussed the current situation in Donbas and the annexation of Crimea and focused on Slovakia’s upcoming chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in 2019. The partners exchanged their views on the relationship between the European Union and Ukraine and addressed the transformation and reform processes in the context of Ukrainian ambitions to be integrated into Europe.
State Secretary Parízek and Deputy Minister Bodnar opened the 4th Slovak-Ukrainian Discussion Forum that took place in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. The event was co-organized by non-governmental partners – the Research Centre of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association and the Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism“.
In his speech, State Secretary Parízek appreciated the good neighbourly relationship between the Slovak Republic and Ukraine and emphasized the need to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Donbas as one of the priorities of the Slovak OSCE chairmanship.
