| The discussion on the future functioning of the Central European Initiative (CEI), the reform of its governing structure and the further cooperation in the political, economic and cultural area were the issues discussed during the working meeting of Luká Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and Roberto Antonione, Secretary-General of the CEI, held in Bratislava on 22 January 2019. The two representatives exchanged views on current developments in the CEI region countries and the opportunities for greater engagement of the organization in the ongoing integration processes in the context of the so-called wider Europe.
The visit of the delegation of the CEI Executive Secretariat was held as a part of the initial tour of Roberto Antonione to the CEI member countries. After Prague and Bratislava, he will continue with a visit to Budapest. The Central European Initiative (CEI) is a regional grouping geared towards political, economic and cultural cooperation, with the aim of supporting the process of transformation and EU integration.
