| Slovak Ambassador to Sri Lanka with residence in New Delhi, H. E. Ivan Lančarič, presented credentials to the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena |

| Ivan Lančarič, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka with residence in New Delhi, presented on February 1st 2019 the Letters of Credence to the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena.
As part of the ceremony in the presidential house, President of Sri Lanka received His Excellency Ivan Lančarič together with other designated Ambassadors. Ambassador Ivan Lančarič confirmed the interest of Slovakia to further develop traditionally good bilateral relations with Sri Lanka. President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, conveyed his best wishes to the Slovak Ambassador in his mission.
Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Colombo, Mahen Kariyawasan, held a reception on this occasion with participation of 50 personalities from diplomatic and business community, including minister for Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, John. A. E. Amaratung and Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ravinatha P. Aryasinha.
Ivan Lančarič, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Sri Lanka with residence in New Delhi also took part in the celebrations of National Day of Sri Lanka in Colombo on the occasion of 71st anniversary of Sri Lanka’s independence, including a reception given by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Tilak Marapana.
