| Assistant UNSG M. Jenča with Slovak members of peacebuilding mission to Cyprus |

| On 14 March 2019, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and Americas in the United Nations Department of Political Affairs, Slovak diplomat Mr. Miroslav Jenča has visited the Camp of General M. R. Štefánik in Famagusta, which is a base of the Slovak contingent (SLOVCON) to the UN Peacebuilding mission to Cyprus (UNFICYP). Slovak soldiers assume responsibility for the whole sector 4 of the Buffer Zone dividing opposition forces. Accompanied by the SLOVCON´ commanding officer, lieutenant colonel Vladimír Smolej and the Slovak Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Ján Škoda he also visited the bi-communal village Pyla getting briefing regarding the current security situation in this part of the island. Mr. Jenča has made a week working visit to Cyprus. MZV |
