New plant to produce argon will be the biggest in Slovakia
Bratislava, 16.04.2019
The Messer Tatragas company will invest nearly €10 million in a new argon-producing plant that will be built near Šaľa (Nitra Region). “It will be the biggest argon production in Slovakia and the first argon production plant in the Messer Group with off-gas processing,” said Michal Paľa, authorised representative of the company, as quoted by the Hospodárske Noviny daily. The plant is expected to produce 7,500 tonnes of argon a year. The production should be launched in two years. The technical gas will be produced in a unique way, but its emissions will be recycled through the secondary production of ammonia. The produced argon will then be sold to neighbouring countries. It is used especially for welding in a protective atmosphere, winemaking and medical applications, the SITA newswire reported. Other plans for Šaľa Šaľa is a strategic town for the Messer Group. Back in 2017, they invested €1.5 million into the construction of the plant to revise and maintain gas bottles for all of central Europe. This year, they plan to extend the filling-up station of technical gases by filling to 300 bars worth €2.5 million. “We’re glad that our mother company decided to invest in the Slovak subsidiary,” Paľa said, as quoted by SITA. odkaz na stránku
