Bratislava, 01.10.2019 |

The joint-stock company Sladovňa Michalovce is requesting investment aid in the nominal value of EUR 550,000 in the form of income tax relief to expand the capacity of the existing malt plant in the existing premises in Michalovce. This stems from the investment plan published by the Ministry of Economy (MH) SR.
"The investment in the nominal amount of EUR 7.661.133 is spread over the period 2018 to 2019. In direct connection with the investment plan, five new jobs will be created by the end of 2019," he said.
According to the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, the current production capacity of 41,000 tons per year is not sufficient to meet the growing needs of the market and regular customers. Malt has long been one of the most important agrarian commodities in Slovakia for export. 80% of the total volume of malt produced in Slovakia is exported to foreign markets. The production of malt in Slovakia and at the same time its export has a growing trend in recent years. In 2016 malt production totaled 262,457 tonnes, of which 230,143 tonnes were intended for export.
The joint-stock company Sladovňa Michalovce was established on 5 May 1998. The main activity of the company is the production and sale of malt and malt waste. The share capital of EUR 3.69 million is paid in full. In 2017, the company generated total sales of EUR 15.6 million and employed 52 employees.
