Gross national income of the Slovak Republic for the years 2010 - 2018
Bratislava, 22.10.2019
Pursuant to Article 2 (paragraphs 2 and 3) of Regulation (EU) 2019/516 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the harmonization of gross national income at market prices (GNI Regulation), EU Member States shall provide the Commission (Eurostat) with figures on aggregate gross national income (GNI) and its components before 1 October accompanied by a Report on the Quality of GNI data. While data on gross domestic product (GDP) express the total efficiency of economy created in the territory of the Slovak Republic, GNI presents GDP created in the Slovak Republic including its relations with the rest of the world. Simultaneously, GNI data serve as a background for the 4th own resource calculation for the purposes of EU budget proposal. According to the definition of ESA2010 (Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council No 549/2013), GNI equals GDP minus primary income payable by resident institutional units to non-resident institutional units plus primary income receivable by resident institutional units from the rest of the world. The primary income paid to the rest of the world covers the compensation of employees, property income and taxes on production and import paid to the institutions of the EU. On the other hand, the primary income received from the rest of the world includes compensation of employees, property income and subsidies received from the institutions of the EU. The data incorporate the results of the major benchmark revision carried out by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic in September 2019 in accordance with the Harmonized European Revision Policy on the basis of the use of new sources and improved methods over the period 2010-2017. In addition, the current revision changes for 2016 and 2017 are taken into account due to routine adjustments using updated information from statistical and administrative data sources. The impact of these changes on the GNI aggregate is quantified in the attached Report on the Quality of GNI data. odkaz na stránku
