| Unemployment in Sweden rose significantly above 7% |

| The unemployment rate in Sweden grew at the end of last year, moving above 7%. This was stated on Tuesday by the Swedish Labor Office.
The unemployment rate in Sweden reached 7.4% in December, compared to 7.2% in the previous month. In December 2018 unemployment reached 7%.
The number of registered unemployed increased to 373,595 people from 344,413 in December 2018.
Unemployment among young people has increased even more than total unemployment. The unemployment rate in the age group up to 24 years reached 9.2% in December, compared to 8.7% in the same month of the previous year.
The Office attributed the growth of unemployment mainly to the slowdown of the Swedish economy. On the other hand, he added that the labor market prospects are relatively good and that there is still a high demand for higher educated employees.
