| Czech billionaire’s PPF submits final documents to EU towards purchase of regional broadcaster CME |

| The PPF Group controlled by Czech billionaire Petr Kellner has sent the European Commission relevant documents towards getting final approval to purchase Central European Media Enterprises (CME)
CME owns the leading Czech commercial station TV Nova and also operates television stations in Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. In July, the media group said the purchase should be completed before October 27, exactly a year since the $2.1 billion deal was first announced.
US Republican senator Marco Rubio has called for a review of the sale of CME, a subsidiary of the American company AT&T, saying that both the PPF Group and Kellner “have a record of acting as China’s proxies in the Czech Republic”.
