| Slovak-Italian Partnership a Topic of Talks between the State Secretary Brocková and the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, Gabriele Meucci |

| Today (November 3, 2020), the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ingrid Brocková, held a meeting via video conference with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy, Gabriele Meucci. The issues of economic cooperation, the European agenda as well as the measures taken to combat the COVID-19 pandemic were the key themes of the discussion.
The State Secretary presented the activities of the Ministry in the field of economic diplomacy and expressed her appreciation for the traditionally intense bilateral dialogue in all areas of cooperation. “We are also interested in developing further cooperation with Italy in the fields of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and space,” the State Secretary emphasized. In this regard, she asked for Italy’s support in Slovakia’s efforts to gain the status of an associated member of the European Space Agency (ESA), “...since the Italian industry community has firm, developed relations with NASA as well as the ESA. We are interested in facilitating cooperation of the business entities which have been active in this field.”
The partners confirmed their mutual interest in regular consultations which should take the form of a structured dialogue with the involvement of the relevant individual ministries.
