| There will be great interest in malting barley from Slovakia in 2021 |

| This was caused not only by climatic conditions, which at the end of last year did not make it possible to sow areas with winter varieties of malting barley, but also by growing demand from countries outside the EU.
According to the SZVPS, the priority for processors, 7 Slovak malthouses, is to take malting barley grown in Slovakia.
Year-on-year, the sown areas of malting barley in the Slovak Republic began to grow slightly.
However, farmers preferred winter varieties of malting barley, while malting plants have traditionally been most interested in spring varieties.
The ratio represents 75% of spring compared to 25% of winter varieties of processed barley.
