Bratislava, 11.03.2021 |
|
On Friday (5 March 2021), the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Korčok, met with the Deputy Chairman of the Trnava Region, József Berényi. They discussed the activities of the mixed Slovak-Hungarian Commission for National Minorities and those parts of the Government’s Program Statement that relate to minority issues. They also touched on an unusual meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, with representatives of minorities in Komárno.
Ivan Korčok gave his assurance that the Slovak Republic is interested in good neighborly relations, but it necessary to respect that the law on citizenship is a Slovak internal affair. The discussion emphasized that all our standing minority issues can be addressed in a peaceful and constructive spirit within the framework of our domestic institutions and organizations. “It is obvious that open, transparent cooperation with Hungary is also welcome in this area, and, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, I will do my utmost to cultivate good relations between our countries,” said the head of Slovak diplomacy, Ivan Korčok. odkaz na stránku |
