| In Austria, a “climate ticket” for public transport valid for the entire federal territory is likely to be launched on the national holiday, October 26. Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) apparently reached an agreement with the provinces of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, which are still outstanding.
The department head will announce details together with the respective state governors at a joint press conference today. With the “Klimaticket Now” it is possible to use any scheduled transport (public and private rail transport, urban transport and transport associations) in a given area.
