| French Ambassador to Belarus Nicolas de Lacoste left the country at the request of Minsk. About it informs France Media Agency, information confirmed Belarusian service of Radio Liberty.Nicolas de Lacoste became the French Ambassador to Belarus in 2020. In September last year, he did not participate in the presentation of credentials to President Alexander Lukashenko. The ambassador handed copies of them to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei.
In early October, Nicolas de Lacoste spoke out for the abolition of the death penalty in Belarus.
“France would welcome the decision of Belarus to revise its legal framework on the death penalty, or at least at the first stage to introduce a moratorium in the country,” he said.
