| Increasing the competitiveness of European Union (EU) industry and supporting the transition to climate neutrality were among the main topics at the meeting of EU ministers responsible for foreign trade in Stockholm.We can only succeed if we preserve a single and free market and apply the principles of the World Trade Organization, said Peter Švec, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy (MH) of the Slovak Republic."They can bring new export opportunities for the supporting branches of our industry and access to important resources," Švec added.According to him, almost half of the value of Slovak trade with third countries is currently covered by this type of free trade agreements.In negotiations on trade relations between the EU and the USA, the subject of the US law on mitigating inflation (the so-called IRA), which is key for Slovakia in trade relations with the US, resonated the most. |
