| The malthouse lacks at least 60,000 tons of malting barley every year |

| The Slovak Association of Beer and Malt Producers (SZVPS) draws attention to the lack of support for malting barley growers from the state. The executive director of the association, Vladimír Machalík, points to the fact that, despite the good conditions for its cultivation, malt houses in Slovakia lack 60,000 to 80,000 tons of malting barley every year. It must be imported from the Czech Republic or Hungary.
