| Prime Minister Michel Barnier said this week that he would reduce the budget deficit to five percent of gross domestic product (GDP) by the end of 2025."We are really talking about the richest among the richest," Saint-Martin told France 2 TV, adding that only individuals with an income of 500,000 euros ($500,000 or more) a year are likely to be subject to wealth tax. Overall, this should affect only 0.3% of French households, as the government aims to protect lower income groups and the middle class.
