Export credit agencies are key in supporting exports |

Financing is a key issue in the effort to support the economy through export-oriented industries, and export credit agencies (ECAs) are a key support tool. This is also one of the conclusions of a recent study by an international group of experts published in the journal Global Policy. This was announced on Tuesday by Martina Vráblik Solèányiová, a spokeswoman for Eximbanka, which is such an agency in Slovakia. The analysis drew attention to several current trends. One of them is the destabilization of the system of management of international political and trade relations, which increases political, market and credit risks. Another is the ambition to strengthen the national economy through a pro-export policy. It pursues a complicated combination of goals, in addition to the general growth of exports, these are inclusiveness, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, climate goals and development goals in the countries where exports are directed.According to the analysis, export credit agencies should actively reflect current trends in both internal systems and the products they provide. ECAs must innovate, introduce new products, and work closely with governments to ensure resilience and success in the global marketplace. "The key is to adapt strategies to the changing global environment and support exports, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, support climate projects, focus on developing markets and promote cooperation," added the Eximbanka spokeswoman.
