Germany wants to speed up the hiring of skilled workers from India |
Berlin, 15.10.2024 |

Germany is interested in hiring skilled labor from India to a large extent. The government cabinet plans to adopt a strategy for skilled labor specifically from India on Wednesday (16/10), Labor Minister Hubertus Heil announced on Monday. TASR reports on the basis of a report by the DPA agency.
According to the government, the aim is to make it easier for Indians to come to Germany through more than 30 measures, primarily to reduce bureaucratic obstacles, for example, when issuing visas. According to the draft strategy, Germany is at risk of a shortage of skilled workers becoming a brake on the growth and development of Europe's largest economy. Without immigration, the consequences of an ageing population would have an even greater impact, while in India the situation is the opposite, the government says. Even highly educated people are entering the labour market, which can absorb them only to a limited extent, the draft strategy states.
"That is why Germany considers India to be an extremely important partner when it comes to the immigration of skilled labor,"said Heil. The minister added that the government is committed to digitizing the issuance of visas, by the end of the year for India, and then for all other countries. "It is important that we do not keep qualified workers waiting at the door, but that we speed up these procedures," he stressed. odkaz na stránku |
