Unemployment in Finland returned above 8%

Unemployment in Finland returned to above eight percent in September after two months, but despite the increase, it remains below the double-digit mark it recorded in May this year. Unemployment among young people under 24 years of age developed worse, jumping above 16%. The data published on Tuesday by the Finnish Statistical Office was brought by the RTTNews portal. The unemployment rate in Finland reached 8.1% in September compared to 7.5% in August. In July, it was also below 8%, when it recorded 7.9%. It recorded even more significant growth in the year-on-year comparison, as it reached 7% in September last year. The number of unemployed in Finland rose to 227,000 last month. This is 13,000 more than in August. At the same time, the employment rate fell. In September, it recorded 61.9%, while the month before it was 63%. Unemployment of young people in the age category from 15 to 24 years developed significantly worse than in the case of overall unemployment.
