| Germany is interested in how oil transit through Ukraine will be resolved |

| According to Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, Germany is interested in how the situation will be resolved after the Ukrainian government announced that it would not continue with the transit contract for oil and gas from next year. He said this during his inaugural visit to Berlin after talks with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, TASR special correspondent reports.
At the end of August, Ukraine announced that it would stop the operation of the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia with Russian oil, from January 1, 2025. Prague has already stated that a possible halt in oil supplies through Ukraine from Russia will not be a problem for it.
"If there is a total shutdown of supplies and transit from Ukraine, we and other countries are not able to immediately replace the gas and oil that flow through the corridor," Pellegrini warned.
