| The budget deficit fell by a third year-on-year |

| The state budget deficit reached EUR 3.404 billion at the end of October this year. Year-on-year, the state's economy improved by more than a third (34.4%) or EUR 1.787 billion. The Ministry of Finance (MF) of the Slovak Republic informed about this on Monday.
Compared to the same period last year, state budget revenues in October increased by EUR 1.037 billion or 5.8% to EUR 18.807 billion. On the other hand, state expenditures fell by EUR 750 million or 3.3% year-on-year to EUR 22.212 billion.
"The year-on-year growth in tax revenues amounted to EUR 801.6 million. A positive development was recorded in value added tax in the amount of EUR 184.9 million, in excise duties in the amount of EUR 112 million, in withholding tax in the amount of EUR 97.5 million, in other taxes on goods and services in the amount of EUR 13.3 million and in taxes on the use of goods and on business licenses in the amount of EUR 3.8 million, " explained the Ministry of Finance.
The special levy on business in regulated sectors achieved a year-on-year growth of EUR 423.3 million. On the other hand, the solidarity contribution from activities in the oil, natural gas, coal and refinery sectors decreased by EUR 387.7 million year-on-year.
In terms of corporate income tax, the ministry recorded a year-on-year increase of EUR 382.1 million in October. On the contrary, personal income tax decreased by 21.9 million euros.
Expenditures on servicing the state debt in the tenth month of the year increased by EUR 223.3 million year-on-year. In the categories of state budget expenditures related to the drawing of EU funds, there was a year-on-year decrease of EUR 662 million, while in the case of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, there was a year-on-year increase of EUR 37.9 million.
