Identity theft is becoming more frequent, the campaign will warn of the risks
Bratislava, 12.11.2024
Identity theft is becoming more and more common. For example, fraudsters may also want to misuse the personal data obtained in this way to create false documents. This was pointed out by the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) as part of a current international information campaign focused on similar risks. The campaign is covered by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), which oversees that financial markets in the European Union (EU) operate safely and according to uniform rules. The NBS is also part of it. In the campaign, together with other financial institutions, it warns of risks and scams that can put everyone at risk, from fake investment offers to fraudulent trading platforms. "The National Bank of Slovakia will never call you or send you e-mails with questions about personal data under the pretext of returning lost money," the central bank stressed. If anyone has doubts about the credibility of such a message or phone call, they should contact info@nbs.sk or scamreport@esma.europa.eu.If you have become a victim of fraud, contact the law enforcement authorities and inform the NBS," the bank added. odkaz na stránku
