Heineken brewery returned to profit in the first half of the year |

Dutch brewing group Heineken reported a profit in the first half of 2025 after a loss in the same period last year. But its sales fell due to the strengthening euro, which reduced the company's income from abroad, and also due to lower sales volumes. TASR reports this based on reports by AFP and RTTNews.
Heineken, the world's second-largest brewing group after AB InBev, on Monday announced a net profit of 380 million euros, or 1.34 euros per share, for the first six months of 2025 after a net loss of 48 million euros, or 0.17 euros per share, in the same period last year. Pre-tax profit in the first half rose to 1.23 billion euros from 339 million euros last year.
On an adjusted basis, the company reported earnings per share of 2.08 euros.
However, the group's revenue fell 5% to 16.92 billion euros from 17.82 billion euros in the first half of 2024, and beer sales fell to 116.4 million hectoliters from 118.2 million hectoliters in the first six months of 2024.
"Significant sales growth in Vietnam, India and Mexico was more than offset by declines in Brazil, the US and parts of Europe," the company said in a statement.
The group, which owns brands such as Amstel and Kingfisher and Savanna cider, confirmed its full-year outlook and expects operating profit to increase by 4 to 8%.
Heineken CEO Dolf van den Brink said in announcing the results that the impact of the 15% US tariff on exports from the European Union had already been factored into the profit forecast. He added that almost all of the company's products (95%) are produced and sold in local markets, so tariffs do not apply to them.
